From Brian Dunlop

Dear All

You can imagine that my last Sunday was a bitter/sweet experience for me. Bitter because I was leaving the St Peter’s community after 24 very happy  years; sweet both because I look forward to my ministry at Emmanuel and because of the large number of touching and supportive cards and messages I have received. And then there is the stole!

Veronica had asked for my suggestions for the design. When I chose the South Cheltenham Churches logo, I did so because I had no idea where I was going and I wanted to take something of you with me. I  never imagined the beauty of the final result nor how apposite the symbol would be. I shall wear it with it with great joy and with humility in the knowledge of the very special gift you have given to me. As many of you will have missed  the presentation, and you need to see the stole in colour, here is a picture.

Finally, from my experience, I would urge any of you, who sense that they might have a calling for any role in the church or community, to explore it. It can be life changing-in a good way. More generally can I thank you all for the fantastic support you have given to me over the last 3 years. It has made a huge difference to me. I am particularly grateful, as having three ordinands in a row has been demanding for the congregation.

Every blessing to you all.
