Great News!!
We have now received confirmation that the cost of proceeding with the
Glebe Cottages Project will be about £130k – as we had estimated. So
over the next few weeks we will be seeking a firm commitment for funding from
those who indicated they would be able to help, and, hopefully, from others
who can now see that this is a project which we can fund as a congregation!!
The
fundraising committee is planning the next event, which will be a Quiz Night
with a Valentine’s theme, since it is scheduled for Saturday, 14th
February. See separate notice.
See you there!
If
you would like to put your small (or large!) change aside for the Cottages Fund,
there are some cottage-shaped Money Boxes available at the back of the Church.
To save in this way, please just put your name beside one of the numbers on the
list and take the box which has that number on the bottom.
When your box is full(!), hand it to any of the churchwardens or the
treasurer and, if you are a taxpayer, please complete a gift aid envelope
(available at the end of each pew) and squeeze it into the box as well, so the
Fund can receive your donation plus 28% tax.

On 10th January, the
six successful bidders at the Auction of Promises were entertained to tea ‘à
la Ritz’ in aid of the Cottages Project. Here
are two of them with the waitress!

They offer sandwiches on best bone china;
Hot tea a-plenty; scones straight off the rack;
And
cakes to die for – my what could be finer!
