Leckhampton C. E. Primary School News May 2007

The great excitement so far this term has been provided by a nesting box fitted with a webcam which has been installed outside the school. A pair of bluetits have taken up residence, made a nest, and laid eggs which have now hatched. The pictures from the box are beamed live via a wireless receiver to a monitor in the Key Stage 1 library. The children are able to watch the parent bluetits feeding their baby chicks. Classes are researching how long the birds are likely to stay in the nest.

Children have been taking part in the Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts. Two choirs participated and the children sang very well and enjoyed the experience of singing in the Town Hall. Many children have taken part in the musical and spoken word categories, with some notable successes. Our thanks go to all the members of staff and families who have helped the children work very hard in preparing for the Festival.
