Christians at Work - April 2010

Revd Nicholas von Benzon: "Mediating family disputes".   POSTPONED

The next meeting will be on Monday 12 April at 20.00 in the Glebe Cottages* (unless advised to the contrary nearer the time) when the speaker will be the Revd Nicholas von Benzon on "Mediating family disputes".

Over the past twenty-five years, family mediation has become an increasingly popular way of resolving the practical questions which arise on separation and divorce.  Mediation is widely acknowledged by politicians, lawyers and other professionals as offering many advantages over the adversarial approach upon which our judicial system is based.

Nicholas began his career over thirty years ago as a solicitor and trained as a family mediator in 1992.  He subsequently spent twelve years as a parish priest.   He opened Cheltenham Family Mediation in 2007, and now works full time as a family mediator.

Nicholas will talk about the use of family mediation to resolve disputes over children and property, and reflect on the way in which mediation echoes principles close to the heart of Christian faith.

Once again we are extremely fortunate to have a speaker who will be talking from first-hand experience about a very real modern-day concern, and particularly from a Christian perspective.

It is bound to be interesting and thought-provoking to hear what Nicholas has to say.
So come along and join us when you are guaranteed to be warmly welcomed.
