During Lent, we will have a set of Prayer Stations in church. A prayer station is a place set aside for prayer. It can be set up with Bible passages, devotional questions, photos and other images to help us to think deeply and pray about a particular issue. At St Peter's, our prayer stations will be based on the story of Exodus and will help us to prepare for the Parish Passover Meal on Maundy Thursday. You can be involved in making and using the prayer stations in the following ways:
Activity Day, Saturday 4th March, 10am-4pm: We will be making the items needed for the prayer stations. You are welcome to come along for all or part of the day. Please sign the list at the back of church or speak to Jacqui Hyde.
Prayer Walk: The prayer stations are designed to be used as a series of reflections taking us through the story of Exodus and relating it to our lives today. If you would like to do the prayer walk, leaflets will be available at all the times the church is normally open. There will also be some times when people will be available to make sure you have everything you need and to provide a cup of tea or coffee. These times have not yet been finalised. We are also hoping to invite some of the children from Leckhampton Primary School to use the prayer walk. Any offers of help would be very welcome. Please speak to Jacqui Hyde.
Lent services: There will be special services at 7.30pm on the Wednesday evenings of Lent (8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th March, 5th April), and on the Monday to Wednesday evenings of Holy Week (10th, 11th, and 12th April). These will be quiet reflections focussing on each of the prayer station themes in turn. We look forward to seeing you there!
